Lukoil has commissioned new operational facilities at South-West Gissar project in Uzbekistan.

Lukoil commissioned on September 23, 2017, new operational facilities at South-West Gissar project in Uzbekistan, comprising of gas treatment plant that holds capacity to produce 4.4 billion cubic meters per year.

The project also includes gas pre-treatment unit and 6 gas gathering stations, which will allow to increase gas production at Gissar cluster of fields up to around 5 bln cubic meters per year.

According to the company, the cumulative production at projects managed by Lukoil reached 45 bln cubic meters in the country, as of early September.

In 2008, Lukoil entered the South-West Gissar project, which included 7 fields.

The frim generated 1.7 billion cubic meters of gas in 2016.

In June 2017, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Lukoil CEO Vagit Alekperov have discussed the implementation of the firm’s current projects in the country.

Both of them have discussed about the progress in the building of a gas-processing works in Kandym, as well as implementation of full development of Gissar.

The company also announced plans to commission the 2nd production line of a complex gas treatment plant, Dzharkuduk, which will help to increase production to the proper design level.

In May, Lukoil signed an amended product sharing agreement (PSA) for Kandym group of fields, including Khauzak, Shady and Kungrad.

The amendment is said to imply multiple adjustments to the economic indicators of Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad PSA.
