Graduated in 2003 from the Academy of the Federal Security Service, specialising in jurisprudence, gaining a further degree in international economics from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in 2006, and a further degree in oil and gas engineering from the Gubkin University of Oil and Gas in 2008.
2006–2009 — advisor to the Board of Directors of Rosneft.
2009–2011 — Deputy CEO for Business Development, RN-Servis LLC.
2011 — employed at Zarubezhneft, involved in developing Vietnamese offshore operations at Russian-Vietnamese joint venture Vietsovpetro, before becoming First Deputy CEO of this organisation (and Deputy CEO, Zarubezhneft) in 2012.
2013 — appointed Deputy CEO, Capital Construction, Gazprom Dobycha Shelf LLC (re-named Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in 2014).
Since April 2015 — appointed Deputy CEO, Shelf Projects Development, Gazprom Neft.
Andrey is the son of Nikolay Patrushev, who was from 1999 to 2008 Director of the Russian FSB, the successor organization to the KGB.
