Biography
Born in 1947.
In 1970 graduated from Azerbaidzhan Institute of Oil and Chemistry, profession - miner, oil-man.
Began working activity in 1970 on a geological enterprise Kaspmorneftegaz.
From August, 1993 - president of State Oil Company of Azerbaidzhan republic.
He retained the post of the President until December 6, 2004 when he was appointed the Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Republic.
Aliyev is also the Chairman of the State Committee for Development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC).
In 2008, he was elected a member of the International Engineering Academy in Moscow.
Candidate of geology-mineralogy Sciences, Academician of International East Oil Academy.
He has authored more than 100 scientific publications, articles and books.
Married, has a son.
Natig Aliyev died aged 69 in Istanbul on June 9, 2017.
