Construction of Kazakh Saryarka gas pipeline is completed und put on-stream

Nur-Sultan, December 30 - Neftegaz.RU. The Saryarka gas pipeline has been put on-stream. According to the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy, the pipeline was put into operation of December 27.

The total cost of the construction of the project is 267.3 billion tenge ($690 million). The formation of the authorised capital of the AstanaGaz project company provided 80.3 billion tenge ($206.6 million), 85 billion tenge ($219.5 million) is a Unified Accumulative Pension Fund bond loan and 102 billion tenge ($263 million) are Eurasian Development Bank and Development Bank of Kazakhstan bond loans

The main gas pipeline Saryarka is designed for gasification of the capital of Kazakhstan, central and northern regions of the country. The Fund is involved in financing the large-scale project, where KazStroiService is the contractor and Astana Gas KMG is the operator.

In total, the gas pipeline will supply 171 settlements in Karaganda and Akmola regions with gas. Therefore, thanks to gasification, the volume of consumption of coal fuel will decrease by 650 000 tons / year. These measures will improve the ecological situation in the country.

More than 1,000 pieces of equipment and 2,000 people built 1061.3 km of gas pipelines, 5 automated gas distribution stations and the gas measuring unit. The building phase of the pipeline created 2,000 jobs and 200 jobs are expected to be created to operate the pipeline.
