Russian PM Warns Energy Cos Against Boosting Prices
13 March 2009 , 08:18572
Commenting on an increase in energy tariffs against the background of sinking coal prices, the PM indicated that energy companies wanted to cover their losses by hiking up prices.
He assured the miners in Novokuznetsk, however, that the companies who exceeded the limits would "face problems." He cited the example of "astronomical oil prices" plummeting and thus deepening the crisis, noting that the same could happen with electricity prices.
With this in mind, Putin insists that the government must carefully examine the situation on the energy market.
