A working meeting with Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia took place in St.Petersburg

Gazprom Export reported that the working meeting between CEO of Gazprom Export Elena Burmistrova and Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia Aleksandar Antić took place on August 25, 2016, in St.Petersburg.

 

Serbia is Gazprom’s important partner in the Balkans. In 2015, Gazprom Group supplied 1.9 bcm of gas to Serbia.

In the gas storage business, Gazprom Export has realized the Banatski Dvor UGS project with active storing volume of 450 mcm.

Gazprom Group’s share in the project is 51%. The UGS provides security of export supplies to Serbia, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

On October 28, 2015, Gazprom and Srbijagas entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on possible cooperation deepening in underground gas storage, NGV sector and small-scale LNG shipments. Pursuant to the Memorandum, the parties will also address the possibility of the Banatski Dvor UGS expansion.

 

During the meeting in St. Pteresburg on August 25, 2016, CEO of Gazprom Export and Minister of Energy and Mining of Serbia discussed current issues of cooperation in gas supplies and storage.

«The Republic of Serbia is our longstanding and reliable partner, and the Balkans region is of enormous importance for our business. We are satisfied with the current state of our cooperation in gas business with Serbian partners and are aimed at its further development», Elena Burmistrova said.

«At the meeting, we were assured that the necessary volumes of gas for Serbia will be provided. We informed Ms. Burmistrova that Serbia puts high priority on the Banatski Dvor UGS project», said Aleksandar Antić.
