US Stocks Gained On Weak Oil Prices

US stocks rebounded as oil prices fell and investors took advantage of bargains in financial stocks after two days of decline.

Stocks initially fell after the Labor Department reported another hefty jump in consumer prices. But after early disappointment with the CPI, investors began looking more positively at stock prices that had been beaten down over the past two sessions.

Crude backtracked as demand resumed its decline.
