LUKOIL to help families of crew members of the Russian helicopter shot down over Armenia

LUKOIL to help families of crew members of the Russian helicopter shot down over Armenia

Moscow, November 19 - Neftegaz.RU. LUKOIL Charity Fund will help families of the deceased crew members of the Russian helicopter that was shot down over Armenia on November 9, 2020.

Each family will receive 10 million roubles from the fund. LUKOIL Charity Fund will also gift a flat in the city of Voronezh to one of the families. Senior lieutenant Vyacheslav Gryazin, who was injured in the accident, will receive 5 million roubles from the company.

The recent military confrontation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which started on 27 September, was the most serious escalation of the conflict in the last 25 years.

6 weeks of renewed fighting over the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh ended last week after Russia brokered a trilateral agreement with the warring parties.

LUKOIL often lends its support to the families of the victims of tragic accidents. In 2016, the company donated funds to restore the Alexandrov Red Army Choir, which lost its ensemble in a plane crash. This aid allowed to form the new ensemble and to resume concerts as soon as possible.

Furthermore, LUKOIL and its contractor LUKOM-A Agency support the family of the Russian military pilot Roman Filipov. He served as a deputy squadron commander with the 187th guards assault aviation regiment and was killed in action in Syria on February 3, 2018.
