If gas prices continue to break records, a third of California motorists say they'll be forced to consider the formerly unthinkable: slashing their time behind the wheel.
A Field Poll released today found that 36 percent of those surveyed would reduce their driving ``a lot'' if gas prices go higher.
The poll comes as gas prices hover at all-time highs, after nine weeks of steadily climbing. As the Memorial Day weekend kicked off, top prices hit $2.14 in San Francisco and $2.06 in San Jose for self-serve unleaded regular on Saturday.
