This refers to a news item that the PSO has plans to install Internet facilities at its petrol pumps. I think any effort which promotes education should be appreciated.
However, it appears that not enough thought has been given to this proposition. Petrol pumps are not the ideal locations for such a facility. Besides being prone to armed robberies, attacks, and hydrocarbon related accidents, most of the petrol pumps do not have enough space for parking of cars of the Internet users.
The PSO should either open cyber cafes in the length and breadth of the city or buy time from the existing ones. Car owners, after getting their tanks filled, may be given a token for certain duration of Internet use, which they might utilize in the designated cyber cafes.
