Jewellery Show In UAE To Break Records

The 10th International Jewellery Show 2004 in Dubai, which opened yesterday, is likely to break all records with a doubling of exhibitor numbers and a substantial rise in floor space.

The show features 454 exhibitors compared with 225 last year, and will occupy an area of 8,311 sq meters - up from 5,000 sq meters at the 2003 show.

Many famous faces in the global diamond and jewelry trade will be exhibiting at the show. These include Aspeco, Livingstone, Rosy Blue, Supergems, Tache, Intergems-Claes, SDE and AMC. Among top-drawer jewelers exhibiting are Adler, Bovet Watches, Graff, Pasquale Bruni, Scavia and Tiffany & Co.

Country pavilions include Italy, Taiwan, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Thailand and Turkey as well as a special Branded Jewelry Pavilion being introduced for the first time at IJD featuring more than 50 leading worldwide brands.

Meanwhile, the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, a group of more 550 members, has a pavilion hosting over 12 leading jewelry makers from the United Arab Emirates.

The organization is aiming to highlight the local market?s capabilities and promote Dubai as a manufacturing destination and not just a trading center.
