St. Petersburg, March 19 - Neftegaz.RU. Gazprom Neft has concluded a tripartite Cooperation Agreement with Politecnico di Torino and the Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University (Polytech) - the signatories to this document being Vladislav Baryshnikov, Deputy CEO for International Business Development, Gazprom Neft; Vitaly Sergeev, Vice-Rector for Research, Polytech; and Patrizia Lombardi, Pro-Rector, Politecnico di Torino.

 

The parties have agreed to work together in implementing R&D activities and educational projects. On which basis, potential scientific investigations and pilot activities in areas such as electronic asset development, extraction of tight oil, and the implementation of digital technologies are being considered.

 

Exchanges are planned between the students of the Theoretical Mechanics Department at the Gazprom Neft-Polytech Science and Education Centre and the Faculty of the Environment, Land Management and Infrastructure at Politecnico di Torino, with Italian students undergoing practical training at Gazprom Neft’s Science and Technology Centre.

 

Gazprom Neft employees, in turn, will have the opportunity for further professional development, as well as taking part in scientific and educational programmes, at the Politecnico di Torino. The Italian delegation’s visit concluded with a visit to the Gazprom Neft Science and Technology Centre, the Drilling Control Centre and the Professional Development Centre.

 

Vladislav Baryshnikov from Gazprom Neft, stressed: «We have been successfully collaborating with St Petersburg’s and Turin’s polytechnic universities for some time. This agreement will allow our partners - leading higher educational institutions in Russia and Italy - to combine their scientific and educational resources and engage in training specialists to the highest standard. We believe that collaboration of this kind will give a major boost to addressing the technological challenges facing the company and the entire oil industry.»
