Diplomats are working to try to secure the release of a Scottish oil worker taken hostage in the Niger Delta over the weekend.
The kidnapped man is Gordon Gray, from Crieff in Perthshire, who is married with a son, BBC reported.
It is believed Mr Gray was seized after a group of armed men took the guard vessel supposed to be protecting the rig off the coast of the Bayelsa state.
Mr Gray is the fifth Scot to have been taken from the Niger Delta in recent months.
The Foreign Office said the embassy in Lagos had been working to secure the oil worker's release.
