A Great Tragedy in Perm

It happen early un the morning local time on Sunday. The jet reportedly caught fire in the sky before landing and then crashed right into the railway line, blocking the world's longest Trans-Siberian railway linking Moscow with Vladivostok.

88 people, including nationals from Ukraine, France, Germany, the United States, on board died immediately. Among them there were 7 children.
Besides as it was reported one of the dead was General Gennady Troshev who in 2000 commanded the Russian army against rebels in the north Caucasus region of Chechnya.

Pieces of the crashed Aeroflot-Nord Boeing 737 still lay on the ground at the site of its accident in Perm. The cause of the accident is still not revealed by the officials, although reports suggested that an engine failure could have sparked flames on board and led to the crash.

Sunday’s accident was its worst crash since 170 people died in August 2006 when a TU-154 plane crashed in Ukraine on a flight from the Black Sea resort of Anapa to St Petersburg.
