President Dmitry Medvedev will spend all of next week on the road with visits to Washington and Latin America following this week's meetings in Slovakia and the signing of a new arms treaty with U.S. President Barack Obama in Prague, the Kremlin said Monday. Medvedev will be in Washington on April 12 and 13 for a summit on nuclear arms safeguards, the Kremlin's press service said in a statement. The following two days, April 14 and 15, the president will be in Argentina for an official visit.
Later on April 15, Medvedev will head to neighboring Brazil for the second summit of BRIC countries, along with the leaders of Brazil, India and China. Medvedev hosted the first official summit of the bloc, which has been seeking to boost its economic clout as a formal entity for the biggest emerging markets, last June in Yekaterinburg. Medvedev will visit Slovakia on Tuesday and Wednesday before meeting with Obama in the Czech Republic on Thursday.
