The price for the Russian gas for Belarus will remain at $132 per 1,000 cubic meters for now, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov, BelTA reported on October 31, 2016.
Speaking about the cooperation of the two countries in the gas sector, the Premier noted: «One sells, the other buys. It is natural that the one two purchases would like to buy it cheaper and the one who sells would like to have it sold at a higher price. These are the market rules.» «On the other hand, there is the understanding that we should move toward the competitive market where there should be no discrimination of goods within the economic union,» he stressed.
Andrei Kobyakov stressed that the parties found the way out in the approaches first of all, taking into account the agreements signed within the Eurasian Economic Union.
«As I have already said, we should have the common market of electricity by 2019 and the common oil and gas market by 2025,» he said.
Andrei Kobyakov added that the gas price for Belarus would remain the same. «The price will be $132 per 1,000 cubic meters, but we are satisfied with the accompanying decisions,» he said.
