Jailed former boss of Yukos oil company Mikhail Khodorkovsky has been taken to the hospital with stomach problems after a short hunger strike on Wednesday.
?Three days ago the prisoner Khodorkovsky announced he was going on a waterless hunger strike because he had been moved to a separate cell,? prison service spokesman Alexander Sidorov told Interfax news agency. He said Khodorkovsky became ill after eating again. ?There are no grounds to fear for his life,? he added.
Last month Khodorkovsky was moved to a solitary cell following what his supporters said was a knife attack by another prisoner. His lawyers accused the prison authorities of orchestrating the attack on their client, the Reuters news agency reported.
