Bush: Saudi Arabia Negotiations

US President George W. Bush wrapped up a trip to Israel on Friday and was headed to Saudi Arabia for talks with the world's biggest crude producer on record oil prices that have hit Western consumers hard.

Bush's visit to Israel was dominated by expressions of support for the Jewish state on the 60th anniversary of its creation, with talks on the Middle East peace process relegated to the background by the festivities.

In Saudi Arabia he was to mark the 75th anniversary of Washington's close ties with the conservative Muslim oil kingpin.
Bush aides have said that, at more than 125 dollars a barrel, oil prices will top the agenda during the US president's talks with King Abdullah and other Saudi officials.

But analysts said Bush's Saudi hosts were likely to raise their own concerns about Washington's failure to do more to advance the peace process, amid growing fears that the influence of Shiite Iran is soaring on the back of Arab frustration.
