As it was reported by Naftogaz on July 1, 2016, the statement from Gazprom’s management calling on Naftogaz to clear debt for natural gas allegedly supplied by the Russian company to the uncontrolled territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine is not substantiated and reflects a wish of the Russian side in these regards.
It was announced that over the last few years, Naftogaz has been purchasing gas from Gazprom exclusively on the advance payment conditions.
Naftogaz of Ukraine consider that the company has not been buying gas from Gazprom since late November 2015, and prior to that the company imported gas exclusively through the entry points to the gas transmission system located in the territory controlled by Ukraine. All gas volumes purchased by Naftogaz have been recorded by the parties and paid by Naftogaz.
Naftogaz does not accept natural gas contracted with Gazprom through the gas metering stations Prokhorivka and Platovo.
All outstanding mutual claims related to the contracts between Naftogaz and Gazprom must be settled through the ongoing arbitration.
