Moscow, April 27 - Neftegaz.RU. A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Gazprom´s CEO, and Johannes Eigner, Ambassador of Austria, took place in Moscow.
At the meeting, appreciation was expressed for the collaborative efforts of the parties in the gas sector. It was noted, inter alia, that Gazprom provided reliable gas supplies to the Austrian market amid an increasingly strong demand for Russian gas over the past years.
According to estimates, Russian gas exports to Austria between January 1 and April 24 exceeded the amount exported in the same period of last year by 79.2 %, with 4.2 billion cubic meters of gas delivered to consumers.
In 2017, Gazprom set a new record for gas exports to Austria at 9.1 billion cubic meters, a rise of 50.3 % (3 billion cubic meters) from 2016 (6.1 billion cubic meters) and 33.7 % (2.3 billion cubic meters) from 2005, when the previous record had been reached (6.8 billion cubic meters).
The parties also discussed the progress of the Nord Stream 2 project. Alexey Miller informed Johannes Eigner that full sets of permits for the construction of the gas pipeline had been received from Germany and Finland. It was highlighted that the permitting process was proceeding as planned.
