Japanese companies active in fuel and energy sector of Turkmenistan

Japanese companies are actively operating in the fuel and energy complex (FEC) of Turkmenistan, Trend reported referring to the speech of the Japanese ambassador Katsumata Takahiko at the Oguz Khan University of Engineering Technologies published in the media.

Currently, Japanese companies carry out their activities in the process of purification and processing of gas of Turkmenistan, and the production of chemical products such as polyethylene and polypropylene (Toyo Engineering), fertilizers (Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi) and complete factory equipment that produces petrol (Kawasaki Heavy Industries)

In addition, they contribute to the implementation of construction projects for gas turbines and thermal power plants (Sumitomo) in order to supply electricity to Afghanistan. "These projects will bring great power in the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan, in particular, by diversifying industry, acquiring foreign currency, stimulating imports and alternative industries, creating jobs. It also contributes to the stabilization of neighboring countries and regions," the diplomat said.

It was noted that these projects are supported by technologies created in Japan. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Japan 3 times - in 2009, 2012, 2015, while Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe visited Turkmenistan in October 2015.
