Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said on Tuesday (27 January) that the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline would be finished in time. This was stated during a meeting with Prime Minister Sharifov of Azerbaijan.
Sharifov pointed out the importance of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan crude oil pipeline project by issuing a written statement after the meeting saying that "the project has to be finished by the end of the year and the oil has to flow to Ceyhan in the beginning of next year. I hope Mr Guler will extend the necessary support for finishing the project in time."
Guler said in his part that they determined a working schedule by meeting with companies, and the companies promised to speed up the project.
"The project will be finished in time, we are not worried about it," Guler said.
