Russian Crude To Flow In Azeri Pipeline

British-Russian JV TNK-BP plans to begin shipping crude through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline from 2006, the chief of BP?s Azerbaijan branch told reporters Tuesday.

BP Azerbaijan president David Woodward said the two firms discussed the shipping of Russian crude through the pipeline, which is led by BP and runs from the Caspian Sea to the port Ceyhan, Turkey.

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline will mainly ship oil from the giant Azeri offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields, which currently produce 130,000 barrels per day and export via the Georgian port of Supsa.
