US oil producers are evacuating rigs and production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico east of a line from Cameron, Louisiana, because of Hurricane Dennis, Bloomberg reports.
Cameron is a Gulf Coast town 50 miles southwest of Lake Charles and 80 miles east of the Texas border. Royal Dutch Shell Group, the biggest oil and natural-gas producer in the Gulf, BP Plc, Apache Corp., Transocean Inc., Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Kerr-McGee Corp. and Rowan Cos. are evacuating workers from offshore production platforms and exploration rigs in the Gulf.
