Kazakhstan's energy minister Sauat Mynbayev said on Monday that its country is to clarify a 2007 deal under which the two countries were expected to develop the Karachaganak deposit and to establish the joint venture based on the Orenburg gas processing plant.
"BG and AGIP - the partner companies in the Karachaganak project - have requested a delay in the third phase due to the current crisis," the energy and natural resources minister said, adding the decision would be made in the second half of 2009.
