The strike at the Ozenmunaygaz production facility under RD KMG, a KazMunayGaz unit, has ended, RD KMG representative Daulet Zhumadil said on 19 March. From 4 to 18 March, from 1,500 to 3,800 workers had been on strike each day, costing the company 12,000 tons of lost oil production. The striking workers met with regional leaders, KazMunaygaz officials and Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development and Trade, Marat Kusainov and others.


In an news release, the company said, “The sides have reached an agreement and confirmed a list of issues to be reviewed by the commission”. RD KMG General Director Kenzhebek Ibrashayev assured the striking workers that if they went back to work, no-one would be punished for taking part in the strike.
