Kazakhstan plans to deport employees of the Karachaganak consortium Petroleum Operating B.V. for violations of the country’s immigration laws, Bloomberg has reported. “We have questions about 270 of the enterprise’s employees and have started court cases against seven of them for illegally obtaining work permits and visas”, Kazakhstan prosecution representative Aleksandr Ogay said.
He added that the punishment for the violations was a fine and deportation. Consortium representative Francesca Ciardiello declined to comment.
