Kazmortransflot will receive a new tanker by the end of May, the company reported in a news release. According to KMG, the Aktobe tanker is the second in a series of three tankers being built at the Krasnoye Sormovo plant for Kazmortransflot. The vessel was launched on December 22, 2009 and passed field tests on April 23, 2010. the tanker is equipped with modern inert and nitrogen gas systems, a cargo heating well, computer operated loading and unlaoding programs and up-to-date radio navigation equipment. Kazmortransflot noted that the vessel is environmentally friendly and achieves zero output into the sea.
Tankers of this class are the biggest sailing in the Caspian today. The Aktobe is 150 meters long and 17.3 meters wide and 10.5 meters high. It has a deadweight of 13,000 tons and carried a 14-man crew. Kazmortransflot owns four tankers Astana, Almaty, Aktau and Atyrau. The latter, with a deadweight of 13,000 tons was also built at the Krasnoye Sormovo plant. the other three have deadweight of 12,000 tons and were built at Russia's Vyborg plant.
