The Indonesian government Friday awarded 14 new oil and gas blocks to investors, which it had offered in December. Eddy Hermanto, director of upstream oil and gas at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, told reporters the government awarded the South Mandar, Sadang and South Sageri blocks to a consortium formed by Talisman Energy (TLM) and Thailand's PTTEP Ltd. The Thai company also won the bid on the offshore Malunda Block, Hermanto said.
Repsol Exploracion S.A. won the offshore Cendrawasih II Bay Bloc, in cooperation with Niko Asia Ltd, and the Cendrawasih III Bay and Cendrawasih IV Bay blocks with Black Gold Ventures LLC. He also said that next week the government will offer 24 new blocks to investors, but didn't elaborate.
