The operator of one of the biggest oil and gas condensate fields in the world, the Karachaganak consortium, will produce over 11 million tons of oil equivalent in 2010, Kazenergy Chair Timur Kulibayev said during the CIS Oil and Gas Summit, Novosti-Kazakhtan reported. "It (the Karachaganak consortium) produced 4 million tons in 2001 and in 2010, it will produce over 11 million tons", Kulibayev said in his presentation as distributed by Kazenergy.
Timur Kulibayev is the son-in-law of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and is also the deputy chair of the state fund Samruk-Kazyn and chair of the Kazmunaygaz, Kazakhstan temir zholy, and Samruk Energo boards of directors.
