Obninsk, October 28 - Neftegaz.RU. The 5th International School on Radiation Technologies of the World Nuclear University was held at the Rosatom Technical Academy on 14-25 of October. The school is one of the key projects of the World Nuclear University and is held every 2 years in different countries.

Rosatom Technical Academy accumulated experience of cooperation with the IAEA in establishing nuclear infrastructure in the newcomer countries and offered services as a center for educational competencies in supporting establishment of national centers for nuclear science and technology (CNNT) and as a scientific and educational hub for cooperation with relevant international organizations.

The school presented Obninsk as a nationally distributed CNNT. The group of 28 students from 21 countries and 5 continents of the world got acquainted with scientific and technical competencies and the material base in the field of research reactors (Karpov Scientific Research Institute of Physics and Chemistry (NIFKhI)), radiation technologies for agriculture and environmental monitoring (FSBIU VNIIRAE), production of isotopes (NIFKhI, SSC RF-IPPE), nuclear medicine (Medical Radiological Research Center named after A.F. Tsyb) and industrial application of nuclear technologies (Tekleor).

Along with the head of the World Nuclear University Patricia Wieland, in the School take part Advisor to the Director General of ROSATOM Vladimir Artisyuk, Head of the Radiation Technology and Isotope Products Section of the International Atomic Energy Agency Joao Osso, and Scientific Director of the RT School, former IAEA Deputy Director General - Director of the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications Ramamurti Natesan.
