Paris, July 15 - Neftegaz.RU.
ROSATOM and the Commissariat for Atomic Energy and Alternative Energy Sources (CEA) signed the Implementation Plan for the strategic document on Russian-French partnership in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy.

On the Russian side, the document was signed by Alexey Likhachev, the Director General of ROSATOM, from the French side – by Francois Jacq, the General Administrator of CAE.

The document provides for coordination of activities on projects in the field of construction and operational support of high-capacity nuclear power plants, renewable energy sources, digitalization, management of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste. It is aimed at optimizing bilateral industrial cooperation and promoting more efficient informational exchange.

“Long-term cooperation between Russia and France in a number of areas in the nuclear field has been going on for over 45 years. We are proud of the partnership with our French colleagues, and we believe that today's signing is another step toward even more productive cooperation,” Likhachev said.

The strategic document on the partnership was signed on May 24, 2018 in St. Petersburg in the presence of Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron, the presidents of the Russia and France respectively.

The document emphasizes that the parties share common approaches to the development of nuclear energy and its role in achieving the objectives of the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
