Sofia, July 31 - Neftegaz.RU. ROSATOM announced on July 30 that a solemn ceremony of signing the final acts on the executed works as per the contract between Kozloduy NPP and Consortium Rusatom Service - Risk Engineering was held in Bulgaria. The contract aimed at feasibility study execution for possible life extension of the power unit № 6 to 60 years.

The transfer protocol was signed by the Director General of Kozloduy NPP Ivan Andreev and Director General of Rusatom Service Yevgeny Salkov.

The event was attended by Energy Minister of Bulgaria Temenuzhka Petkova, 1st Deputy Director General for Corporate Development and International Business of ROSATOM Kirill Komarov, representatives of Kozloduy NPP, Bulgarian Energy Holding, Nuclear Regulatory Agency of Bulgaria and Rosatom enterprises, such as Rusatom Service, Rosenergoatom Concern, OKB GIDROPRESS, who participated in the project.

The results of the work carried out within the framework of the project showed that the equipment, construction structures and systems examined are in good working order and, considering the existing maintenance and repair system, can be safely operated until 2051, subject to work on managing the resource characteristics and implementing recommendations specified in the conclusions.

Last year the power unit № 5 at the Kozloduy NPP received a new 10-year license, today the project of extension the operating life of the 6th power unit is one of our most important tasks», Petkova said.
