The gold mining of Russia?s Siberia has declined. Gold mining companies of Irkutsk announced they reduced their production by 9.5% down to 14 tons 747 kg in the period of January ? October 2004, compared to the same period last year.

Cold weather deposits exhausted conditions are believed to be the main reasons for the decrease. In 2004 Lena Gold enterprises mined 8 tons 53 kg of gold.
In 2003 Irkutsk region mining companies mined 16 tons 517.5 kg of gold that is by 2.8% more than in 2002.
