Russian Far East Gold Mining Plans To Break the Record

Gold mining companies, operating in Amursk region (Russia, Far East) broke their last year?s record in gold mining.The volume of gold mined in January ? October 2003 there amounted to over 12.5 tons. This year the gold producers of the region plan to exceed last year?s 13.1 tons of gold result.

One of the largest mines in the region is Pokrovskiy pit. This year it intends to get 4.5 tons of precious metal ? a ton more than in 2003.
