Gold futures rose in early Asian trade Friday amid buying at lower interest and awaiting some crucial global economic events neхt week, including elections in Iraq, OPEC meeting, and the Group of Seven nations' meeting.
Dealers said all these events warmed fears among buyers and supported gold?s position as a safe-haven asset.
Spot gold was quoted at $426.75/427.50 an ounce, compared with $424.50 an ounce on Thursday.
