According to the Union of Gold Manufacturers of Russia, Russia?s gold production increased by 2 percent in 2004 as compared to 2003 and amounted to 180 tons 514.7 kg.
In particular, gold mining volume increased by 0.5 percent, or 159 tons, while secondary production grew up to 11,2 tons, (+65 percent), incidental production amounted to 10,4 tons.
The Union has forecast that in 2004 gold production volume would remain the same as in 2003. The increase is connected with growth of Polimetall Company results at Dukat, Lunnoe and Khakadjinskoe deposits.
