Gold Peaked at Fresh Highs

Gold reached a fresh high for 2005 Friday, as the dollar depreciated again, following further widening of the U.S. trade deficit.

April gold traded to $448.50 during the session Friday, closed at $446.80 a troy ounce, its highest since early December.

Spot gold ended European trade at $445.95/446.70, up from late New York's $442.00/442.75 on Thursday.
