US gold futures declined to seven-day lows Thursday on speculative long liquidation and bullion bank selling spurred by resurgent US currency.
The most active April gold contract settled $5.10 lower at $439.10 per ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Most of April gold's demise came within the opening 25 minutes of the session, when prices dropped from an opening of $443.20 to a low of $439.80 on bullion bank and commodity fund offers of the metal.
