Yuan Revaluation Sent Gold Price High

US gold jumped on Thursday on short covering triggered by news that China was revaluing its currency, traders said.

August gold settled with a gain of $3.60 to $425.70 on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

The metal Thursday morning got as high as $426, its strongest level since July 13.
