The gold mining results of Irkutsk, Russia, in the first quarter increased by 12% up to 4.39 tons.

The quota for gold mining in 2005 in Irkutsk region is 17880 kg. Last year 15555 kg of gold were mined in the region. According to the Council of Gold Manufacturers of Russia, this year gold production volume in the country will amount to 183 tons that is by 2.5 tons more than in 2004.
