Gold futures pushed to fresh highs Wednesday amid a weak dollar and rising oil prices triggered by fears over Hurricane Rita.
December contract settled $2.60 higher at $472.60 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
During the session the contract continually scored fresh highs, ending the day with a $473.60 high.
