Rusal, the world's second largest aluminium producer form Russia, is likely to acquire some Chinese plants.
Rusal's Finished Products Department head Patrice L'Huillier said, "The company is trolling a seemingly eager Chinese marketplace for potential partners in both the aluminum and alumina sectors."
Rusal has already acquired a cathode plant in April with an annual capacity of 15,000 tonnes in Linshi, in northeastern China's Shanxi Province. It plans to invest $3 million to expand the plant's capacity to 25,000 tonnes.
