Gold rose in early European trade on Friday on bargain hunting and the US dollar falling.
Spot gold hit an early high of $815,60 an ounce on Friday before trading at $808,70/809,30 an ounce in early trade, higher than $813,70/814,50 late in London yesterday.
Prices have risen by nearly 3% since the beginning of the week, hitting a low of $793,90 on Monday.
