Gold dropped from a record in London after the dollar halted a slump to its lowest ever against the euro, eroding demand for the precious metal as a hedge against further weakness in the U.S. currency and faster inflation.
Gold for immediate delivery dropped $1.98 to $955.86 an ounce as of 11:09 a.m. in London. Gold for April delivery declined $2.90 to $958.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Bloomberg reported.
