World Gold Council (WGC) has appointed Aram Shishmanian as incoming chief executive officer.
Shishmanian will join WGC for a transitional period in mid-October, while current CEO, James E Burton, will continue to lead the organisation until mid-December when he will leave to return to his native California, said a statement.
Aram Shishmanian has spent his entire career at Accenture, the largest global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing firm in the world, where he has held a number of senior positions, culminating in becoming a senior partner and head of the global financial markets practice.
“Aram's proven skills and experience will ensure that this organisation continues the strong momentum it has built up over recent years and is ready to face the inevitable challenges the gold industry will face in future,” said Gregory C Wilkins, chairman of WGC.-TradeArabia News Service
