The insurgents attacked two oil and a gas pipelines in the northern Iraqi region
The insurgents attacked two oil and a gas pipelines in the northern Iraqi region of Kirkuk last late night.
According to the responsible forces, two pipelines were targeted last night, one carrying oil and the other carrying gas.
The latest blasts hit a section of oil pipeline near the village of al-Sarai, 75 kilometres west of Kirkuk, while the gas line was exploded near the town of al-Riadh about 40 kilometres to the west of the city.
?The attack against the oil pipeline was very powerful, but the blast on the gas pipeline was smaller. Both were sabotage,? said the security officer.
The two pipelines carried oil and gas to the Baiji refineries southwest of Kirkuk.
