A member of Russia?s Duma Vladimir Litvinov was found dead by a river in southern Russia, an official with the ministry of emergency situations cited by Russian mass media, said Saturday, Mosnews.com reported.
The body of Vladimir Litvinov, a member of the pro-Kremlin United Russia party, was found by a channel of the Don river in a village in the Rostov regino on Friday evening, the official told Interfax.
Initial investigations have found no sign of violence on the body and suggest that a heart attack may have been the cause of death, officials said.
?A preliminary examination found no signs of a violent death,? Elena Kravchenko, a prosecutor for the Rostov region, said, cited by RIA-Novosti news agency.
?It is not ruled out that he died of a heart attack and didn?t drown, as the body was found on the river bank,? she said.
Russian news agencies said the deputy?s family had a summer house in the village and that fishing equipment was found at his side.
Litvinov was deputy chairman of the Duma?s natural resources committee, AFP adds.
