Chinese oil giant CNOOC, who offered a takeover bid to the US oil firm Unocal this summer and was dismissed, said it has donated $197,287 to U.S. citizens, who are suffering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
The donation is composed of $9,864 from its employees and the same amount in the name of the company.
The Chinese government has decided to offer disaster relief of up to $5 million along with emergency supplies to the U.S. people suffering the effects of Hurricane Katrina, the Foreign Ministry said last Saturday.
