An explosion at a natural gas facility has left one person injured according to officials in northwest Louisiana.
Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator says CenterPoint Energy is investigating Tuesday's explosion at the Dixie Interconnect, a gas transmission station about 12 miles north of Shreveport.
CenterPoint spokeswoman Alicia Dixon says the station is the intersection of two interstate pipelines owned by CenterPoint subsidiaries.
Dixon did not release details about the injured man or his condition. She had no other information on the explosion.
Prator says many residents heard the explosion and quickly came to help. Two parish fire companies responded.
CenterPoint, which is based in Houston, also is an electric utility.
